Beard transplantation is a procedure that permanently thickens the density of facial hair in a micro-surgical procedure that has no downtime. A beard transplant is a subcategory of hair transplant, a hair restoration discipline that uses your own hair to fill out patches in your beard and mustache.
Regardless of the underlying cause of your patchy beard, whether it is genetics or whether it was induced by an accident, a beard transplant can give you a natural-looking beard for life.
Beard Transplant Procedure
A beard transplant covers a particular series of events to achieve your aesthetic goals.
- Beard Design
Beard design is the phase where our practices surgeons at Esthete Clinic draw the proposed outline of your beard. This step takes into consideration your facial features ensuring that your end result looks authentic and compatible with your face.
- Anesthesia Application
Our anesthesiologists at Esthete Clinic will administer your local anesthesia in both your scalp and beard preparing you for beard transplant.
- Extraction of Grafts
Extraction of grafts is the phase where our doctors at Esthete Clinic will harvest hair for your beard. We take the hair from the back of your scalp because it’s the most compatible with facial hair. And during this process, we use advanced technologies that allow us to evaluate the quality of the grafts. This is important to make sure you get permanent results without having to opt for a second beard transplant.
- Placing the Grafts in Hypothermosol Solution
Hypothermosol solution is a necessary step to keep the grafts healthy and in good shape for implantation.
- Channel Opening
During this step, our surgeons at Esthete Clinic will open channels in the beard area. These channels are where grafts are implanted. If you’re using the DHI beard transplant technique, this step isn’t included. Whereas if you’re opting for the Sapphire Beard transplant, your surgeon will use a special instrument for ultra-small channels. With micro-FUE beard transplant, on the other hand, channel opening takes place with traditional steel blades.
Implantation is the process of taking the grafts from the Hypothermosol solution and implanting them in the pre-opened channels in the beard region. If you’re opting for the DHI technique, a special pen directly implants the grafts into the beard without opening channels beforehand.
